BIND Associates continued its global engagement during the World Bank Spring Meetings through participation in a closed high-level roundtable at George Washington University titled “Building Congo’s Industrial Future: Capital, Entrepreneurs & the Road to 2030.” Dr. Nkem Okeke attended on behalf of BIND Associates, joining ministers, development finance institutions, private sector investors, World Bank specialists, and diaspora capital leaders for a strategic discussion on the Democratic Republic of Congo’s industrial and entrepreneurial future.

The roundtable centered on a critical question: how to mobilize capital, enterprise, and policy alignment in ways that meaningfully support the DRC’s long-term development goals. The discussion was especially timely as the DRC prepares to launch a $1.3 billion national entrepreneurship programme on June 30, 2026. The initiative is designed to prioritize inclusive economic participation, with 51 percent of funds directed to women and additional focus placed on youth and persons with disabilities across 182 constituencies.

For BIND Associates, the conversation reflected the organization’s central mission: connecting diaspora capital, knowledge, relationships, and business leadership to Africa’s development priorities. The organization recognizes that entrepreneurs are not separate from infrastructure; they are part of the foundation required to build resilient industries, create jobs, and support sustainable economic growth.

Dr. Okeke’s attendance on behalf of BIND Associates reinforced the importance of ensuring that diaspora business networks are present in spaces where investment strategies, partnerships, and memoranda of understanding are shaped. The roundtable also highlighted the need to move beyond discussion and toward practical collaboration that supports entrepreneurs, strengthens industries, and advances locally grounded development.

BIND Associates views the DRC’s industrial vision as an opportunity to align diasporadriven enterprise with national priorities in manufacturing, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and broader economic transformation. The organization remains committed to deepening partnerships that connect global platforms with actionable opportunities on the ground.

As the road to 2030 takes shape, BIND Associates continues to emphasize that diaspora leaders must not remain on the sidelines of Africa’s economic future. Through strategic engagement, transcontinental partnerships, and a focus on enterprise-led development, BIND Associates is working to ensure that diaspora capital and expertise contribute directly to the next chapter of African growth.
